Most pet food is made by food scientists in factories on the other side of the world.
Ours is made by a butcher, in a temperature-controlled facility in George Town, Grand Cayman — using cuts we’d be proud to put on a plate ourselves.
Island Pet Co. exists because we believed Cayman’s dogs deserved better than what was sitting in a bag on a shelf. Real food. Local food. Food made by someone who actually understands meat.
Our Story
Why We Built This
I spent over 20 years in meat. Working the block, breaking down whole animals, understanding muscle, fat, organ, and bone at a level most people never see. I know what quality looks like — and I know what it doesn’t.
When I moved to the Cayman Islands, I started looking at what was available for dogs here. Imported kibble. Processed bags. Shelf-stable products that no butcher would look at twice. And when you could find something decent, it was out of stock. Shelves empty. No timeline on when it’s back. Pet stores here run out — shipping delays, import issues, container backlogs. It’s not their fault, but your dog still needs to eat.
And I thought: if I wouldn’t feed this to a dog I cared about, and I can’t even rely on it being there when I need it, why is it the only option?
That question became Island Pet Co. We make on demand, we produce here, and we never run out.
We formulate every meal the way a butcher thinks about food — whole cuts, real organs, proper bone ratios, nothing synthetic, nothing hidden. We work to AAFCO nutritional standards, not because a regulator told us to, but because we believe complete nutrition shouldn’t require a chemistry set.
Every batch is made fresh in Cayman. Every ingredient is traceable. Every meal is something we’re proud to put our name on.
