Description

When a dog develops sensitivities, the usual advice is to try a novel protein — something their immune system has never encountered before. For most dogs, that means something they have never eaten. For most Cayman dogs raised on chicken and beef, that protein is pork.

This raw pork dog food. It is a complete, highly digestible, lean muscle meat that delivers full protein nutrition without the immune triggers that common proteins can build up over time.

The Island Pork Blend was designed from the ground up to give sensitive dogs exactly what they need — a whole-food, complete and balanced raw meal built around a protein their body can approach fresh.

Every ingredient was chosen deliberately. Every one of them has a job to do.

What’s Inside This Raw Pork Dog Food

Pork Loin
The foundation of this blend. Pork loin is lean, clean muscle meat — complete protein, essential amino acids, and none of the immune history that chicken or beef carries for a sensitised dog. Because most dogs have never eaten pork before, their system has no prior exposure to react to. That is the entire point. Sourced as fresh cuts and ground through the blend for consistent texture and even distribution.

Pork Rib with Bone
Raw bone is how nature delivers calcium and phosphorus to a carnivore. Pork rib with bone is ground directly into the blend, providing both minerals in their most bioavailable form — supporting strong bones, healthy teeth, and firm stools without synthetic supplementation. The bone is doing the structural mineral work so nothing else has to.

Pork Liver
The most nutrient-dense ingredient in this bowl. Pork liver delivers Vitamin A, iron, copper, zinc, and a full spread of B vitamins in concentrations no kibble or synthetic supplement can match in bioavailability. Included at a precise ratio — enough to drive real nutritional completeness, calibrated so it never overwhelms digestion. This is what separates a properly formulated raw diet from simply feeding ground meat.

Pork Kidney
Kidney adds selenium, Vitamin B12, and organ variety that mirrors what a dog would consume from a whole prey animal. Feeding more than one organ type distributes the nutritional load naturally — the way biology intended — rather than placing the entire burden on liver alone.

Oysters
Pork muscle meat is naturally low in zinc. Left uncorrected, that gap shows up as dull coat, poor skin, and compromised immune function. Canned oysters are the most efficient whole-food zinc source available, and a small inclusion closes the gap completely. One ingredient, one specific job, done cleanly. Owners should note this formula contains oysters — not suitable for dogs with seafood sensitivities.

Sardine
Sardine provides two things land-based proteins cannot — Vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids. Vitamin D supports bone metabolism, immune regulation, and cellular health. Omega-3 supports skin, coat, and joint health, and helps balance the naturally higher omega-6 content of pork. The inclusion is kept moderate — nutritionally meaningful without making fish the dominant flavour note. Contains sardine — not suitable for dogs with seafood sensitivities.

Whole Egg
One of the most complete single ingredients in nature. Egg contributes highly bioavailable protein, healthy fats, choline for brain and liver health, and a full amino acid profile that complements the lean pork base. For a formula built around lean muscle meat, egg is what brings the fat and energy profile to where an active adult dog needs it.

Sweet Potato
Fibre, potassium, and sustained energy. Sweet potato supports healthy digestion and gut motility — both important for dogs whose digestive systems have been under stress from chronic sensitivity. Potassium is an essential mineral for muscle and nerve function. Included at a level that contributes meaningfully without diluting the protein-forward nature of the blend.

Pumpkin
Raw pumpkin is one of the most reliable digestive regulators in a raw diet. Its soluble fibre firms loose stools and softens hard ones, adapting to what the gut needs. For sensitivity dogs transitioning to a new protein, a settled digestive system is the foundation everything else builds on. Pumpkin earns its place here every batch.

Carrots
Beta carotene, additional fibre, and natural antioxidants. Carrots add a gentle sweetness that enhances palatability — particularly useful for dogs that are cautious about new foods — and they hold their texture well in a raw grind without becoming watery or dominant.

Spinach
Included at a modest level for trace minerals, phytonutrients, iron, and folate. Kept intentionally small — enough to contribute to the micronutrient profile, not enough to affect palatability or stool smell.

Wheat Germ Oil
Natural Vitamin E — the primary fat-soluble antioxidant that protects cell membranes and supports skin, coat, and immune health. For sensitivity dogs whose skin and coat are often the first things to suffer, Vitamin E is a meaningful addition. Stored refrigerated after opening to protect freshness and potency.

Nutritional Yeast
A whole-food source of B-complex vitamins — B1 through B6 — that support energy metabolism, nervous system function, and coat health. Nutritional yeast also enhances palatability naturally, which matters for dogs that are cautious or have been off their food during a sensitivity flare.

Kelp
A natural whole-food iodine source included at trace levels to support thyroid function and metabolic regulation. Small inclusion, specific job, whole-food delivery.

Calcium Carbonate
One precision correction in an otherwise entirely whole-food recipe. Used at a small, calculated inclusion to bring the calcium-to-phosphorus ratio into optimal balance alongside the bone already in the formula. This is what allows the blend to meet AAFCO Adult Maintenance standards completely.

A Note on Seafood

This formula contains oysters and sardine, included specifically for zinc and Vitamin D. Both are clearly listed and explained above. If your dog has a confirmed seafood or fish sensitivity, this blend is not suitable. For a completely seafood-free option built on the same whole-food philosophy, see Lennie’s Fish-Free Blend.

For dogs with chicken or beef sensitivities, the Island Pork Blend is designed to be fed as a primary meal or as the foundation of a rotation diet alongside other Island Pet Co. blends.
